Ratings of TSR/WotC's *D&D Products

Welcome to the Ratings Guide for *D&D products. Originally started as a short-lived survey on the rec.games.frp.dnd newsgroup, it has since been expanded to be on ongoing survey on the web!

Skip down to the ratings links.

Now you, too can rate every rulebook, sourcebook, module, or other accessory that TSR/WotC has put out for both D&D and AD&D since the beginning! Novels, magazines, calendars, and other miscellaneous items are not included, but everything else is, as listed in the Triviathon product list and the TSR/WotC catalogs for the years since then.

The ratings displays include not only the average rating and the number of voters, but also a breakdown giving the total number of voters per rating level, color-graded from a cold blue 0 to a red hot 10. Additionally, those products which have consistently been given the highest marks or lowest marks (specifically, those with an average of 8.5 or higher, and those with an average 3.0 or lower) are listed on a separate page.

Note: This is not an official survey. The survey maintainer is not affiliated with TSR, WotC, or Hasbro in any way other than as a fan of many of their products.

(Most products are given up to a month or two after coming out before they are added, in order to give people a chance to pick them up and thoroughly try them out and thus be as fair as possible with their ratings.)

Also available are ratings of products published by Judges Guild which were usable with D&D/AD&D:

For those looking to purchase or sell any of the products listed, or wondering how much something might cost, I don't know--I'm NOT buying or selling anything listed here, though I know where one can start looking for such information. If you want to see an average of the prices D&D/AD&D products have sold for see The Acaeum's D&D lists. If you want to purchase an item listed here, check (or post a request) on the Usenet newsgroup rec.games.frp.marketplace, or check eBay. That's the best I can do for you.

Dungeons & Dragons, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, and the names of the various (A)D&D campaign lines are all trademarks of Wizards of the Coast, a subsidiary of Hasbro. Their use here, and the use here of all other WotC-owned trademarks, is not intended as a challenge of that ownership in any way. Likewise for Judges Guild and the current owners of those trademarks.
