Adamson Awards

Awarded by the Swedish Academy of Comic Art (SACA, a.k.a. the Swedish Comic Academy), at the annual Gothenburg Book Fair (Göteborg Bok & Bibliotek). The award is named for "Adamson" (Silent Sam), a famous Swedish comic strip created by Oscar Jacobsson in 1920.

There are two categories:

  • Best International Comic-Strip [or comic book] Cartoonist
  • Best Swedish Comic-Strip [or comic book] Cartoonist

Periodically, the academy also awards an Adamson Gold Award for lifetime achivement.
