      Daijirō Moroboshi (諸星   大二郎), for "The Monkey King" and other Chinese Legends [Saiyū Yōenden 『西遊妖猿伝』], serialized in Hope Comics [Kibō komikkusu 希望コミックス] (Ushio Shuppansha 潮出版社) [72 points]

Award for Excellence:
      Minetarō Mochizuki (望月   峯太郎), for Dragon head [Doragon heddo 『ドラゴンヘッド』], serialized in Young magazine [Yangu magajin ヤングマガジン] (Kōdansha 講談社) [59 points]
